Playing soccer, barbecuing and getting into conversation

The annual physics department barbecue took place on 14.07.2025. The event kicked off at 3:30 pm with the traditional soccer tournament, in which seven teams of students and staff from the department competed against each other and the winners even managed to beat the professors' team in a penalty shoot-out in the final.

At the subsequent barbecue at the amphitheater in front of Building 46, a diverse mix of faculty members took the opportunity to get to know each other. The award ceremony for the soccer tournament also took place in this setting. In addition to cold drinks, guests were able to have their food freshly grilled and enjoy a wide selection of salads and desserts prepared by guests and the student council.

We would like to thank the student council for organizing the event, the department for covering the costs and the jDPG for hosting and moderating the soccer tournament. And for all those who missed it: A repeat event is also planned for summer 2026!
