The degree courses in physics at the University of Kaiserslautern-Landau (RPTU) performed very well in the latest university ranking by the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE). Students particularly praised the general study situation, the organization of studies and the support provided by lecturers. The ranking results appear in the new edition of the ZEIT Study Guide.

Master's students assessed the study programs on the basis of ten evaluation criteria: General study situation, support from lecturers, study organization, range of courses, support during studies, digital teaching elements, research orientation, practical orientation, transition to Master's studies and support for studying abroad.

Physics students rated the study conditions as very good: 4.6 out of 5 stars were awarded for the general study situation and support from lecturers, for example. They also praised the organization of studies (4.5 out of 5 stars) as well as the range of courses, the research orientation and the transition to the Master's degree course (4.4 out of 5 stars in each case). Students of physics, technophysics, biophysics and advanced quantum physics took part in the survey.

About the current CHE ranking

The new comparison of the Master's programs shows various criteria - student assessments and facts. In addition to the general study situation, students also rate the courses on offer, the supervision and support during their studies and digital teaching elements. The evaluation is presented on a 5-star scale. A total of around 7,500 students were surveyed at the universities between January and August 2024 for the ranking.
