Hauptseminar I
Tuesdays, 15:45 - 17:15 in 46-387/388
Topics regarding: Photonics for AI and quantum simulation
Photonic technologies are playing an increasingly important role in information processing and are opening up new perspectives for artificial intelligence, novel computing paradigms, and quantum simulation. In this seminar, we will engage with selected recent research literature at the interface of photonics, physics, and information technology.
The aim of the seminar is to develop skills in reading and understanding current research papers, as well as the ability to present and discuss complex topics in a clear and scientifically sound manner.
In an initial meeting, the topics will be introduced and assigned. Each seminar session will feature a 30-minute student presentation followed by a question period and scientific discussion. Afterwards, the form and style of the presentation will be jointly reviewed, with suggestions for possible improvements.
The seminar thus provides not only an introduction to a highly topical research area, but also focused training in scientific presentation and discussion skills.
