Research

The control of single particles and individual quantum systems is the basis both for the fundamental understanding of complex quantum effects and for implementation in emerging quantum technologies. Our group conducts fundamental research with the aim of gaining deeper insights into the behavior of individual particles and individual quantum systems. We pay particular attention to the transition from classical physics to quantum mechanics on the one hand and the transition from individual quantum systems to many-body systems on the other. We are investigating how quantum systems can be measured and controlled locally.
