The cross-border project UpQuantVal on the Upper Rhine aims to create a sustainable trinational quantum ecosystem. The project is co-financed by the EU via the Interreg Oberrhein program with 2.3 million euros and has a total budget of 5.1 million euros. 19 partners from Germany, France and Switzerland are working together to strengthen research, development and training in the quantum sciences. The aim is to achieve more efficient cross-border cooperation in the fields of quantum computing, quantum sensor technology and related technologies. UpQuantVal promotes infrastructure, technology transfer and training strategies to position the region as a leading location for quantum innovations. In addition to scientific progress, the project aims to create jobs and develop skills in the region. The planned measures include training, knowledge exchange and long-term cooperation strategies. The aim is to establish a sustainable network between research, industry and public institutions and to ensure the long-term development and competitiveness of the region in the field of quantum science.
