Vacuum Purification

The very sensitive methods for material analysis used in the research group require highly purified material. Especially for the investigation of physics in molecular electronics it is absolutely necessary to avoid impurities and pollution during the whole preparation process of the samples.

This system purifies by selecting different ranges of the material's sublimation temperature. The starting compound is sublimated into a UHV chamber. The three different segments of a glass tube are heated with a specific temperature to seperate derivatives or solvents. After cooling down, the purified material can be taken off and it can be used for sample preparation.
