NMR Spectroscopy

General description

NMR spectroscopy (NMR = nuclear magnetic resonance) is the most important analytical method in chemistry today.  For the interpretation of simple spectra of substances in solution, only information about chemical displacements and J-couplings. However, in order to understand the versatility of magnetic resonance methods, including magnetic resonance imaging, it is necessary to study the physical principles of the method. The aim of this experiment is to teach the fundamentals of pulsed Fourier transform NMR. At the same time, practical applications will familiarize you with some properties of the Fourier transform, which also plays a role in many other areas (e.g. scattering methods).
