General information on the doctoral procedure

Please note that the German form must be submitted. The English form only serves as a translation aid.

Please submit a PDF version of your dissertation in addition to the printed version. Please send this by e-mail or as a Seafile link to dekanat(at)physik.rptu.de.

Doctoral debates take place as face-to-face events. In exceptional cases, reviewers can be connected digitally. This must be agreed with the Dean's Office in advance.

Further information on the doctoral procedure

  • Submission of the reports in writing to RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau, Department of Physics, -Dekanat-, Postfach 3049, 67653 Kaiserslautern or as a PDF file to dekanat(at)physik.rptu.de is required by the deadline.

  • The display is technically realized via the platform “Seafile” of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate: seafile.rlp.net
  • All university members have access to Seafile via their RHRZ account - login with xxx(at)rptu.de and enter the RHRZ password.
  • All those who have already logged in to Seafile will find the “Doctoral procedure” library in the “Released for me” area.
  • Those who have a legitimate interest in viewing the files and have never logged in to Seafile before or cannot find the folder under the aforementioned point, please write a short e-mail to kerstin.krauss(at)rptu.de - the files will then be released at short notice.

  • An objection to the doctoral procedure must be submitted in writing to the Dean's Office. Alternatively, the objection can also be submitted by certified e-mail.

  • Unless otherwise announced, the doctoral debate takes place in lecture hall 46/270.
  • The doctoral candidates and the committee members are present on site.
  • Other members of the faculty or members of the University may also attend the debate in person.
  • The chairperson of the commission decides on the admission of guests.
  • The presentation is held via a projector.
  • The blackboard may be used during the debate.
  • A protocol is taken during the debate.
  • After the question and answer session, the marks are awarded.
  • The grade is then announced.
  • The two (three) rapporteurs and the chairperson of the commission must sign the file.
